FREE Women Empowerment Workshop Description:
There are many studies annually showing alarming numbers of women that are victims of violence that include domestic (intimate partner violence or battering), sexual and murder. You may personally know a woman who has been a victim or been a victim yourself!
Blessons, in conjunction with Tenshinkan Dojo, is hosting an Aikido Workshop on Women’s Self Defense that will be taught by Susan Dutton, the Chief Instructor at Ai-Sei-Shin-Kan Dojo, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Aims and Objectives of the Workshop:
*The power of No in our lives
*Situational awareness
*Using boundaries to determine intent
*Conditions necessary for assault
*Assaulter strategy
*Countering grabs, bear hugs, chokes
*Embodying power
What to bring /wear: Participants should wear sports bra, long-sleeved tee shirt, and workout pants or capris.
Length / duration of the workshop: The duration of the workshop is three (3) hours, but you are welcome to attend the first hour and a half that will cover the basics. The second half of the workshop will provide more in-depth information.
Space is limited to 30 attendees. The Workshop is FREE, the suggested donation is $15 to Blessons and we greatly appreciate your generousity! Must RSVP through the link provided to attend.
Susan Dutton is a sociologist, emotional intelligence coach, aikido practitioner and instructor, theater lighting designer, foodie, and puzzle enthusiast. She lives and works in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
